๐บ๏ธ Asking for and Giving Directions
In this lesson, you will learn how to ask where places are in a city. You will also learn how to tell people the way.
Asking Where Places Are
When you are in a new city and want to find a place, you need to ask for help. A polite way to start is by saying 'Excuse me'. Then, you can ask where a specific place is. We use the verb 'is' for one place. For example, you can ask about a bank, a hotel, or a station. People will be happy to help you if you are polite.
Giving Basic Directions
When someone asks you for help, you need to give them clear instructions. You can tell them to go straight, turn left, or turn right. These three simple phrases are very important. You can also use words like 'next to' or 'opposite' to show where a building is.
Places in the City
To ask for directions, you need to know the names of common places in a city. A city has many useful buildings and areas. Knowing these words helps you understand the answers people give you. For example, you might need a hospital, a park, or a cafe.
